Say hello to our board of directors! These are the friendly faces you will see teaching skills clinics, holding meet-ups, tabling events, snapping your photo, upgrading local crags, advocating for access, and working to build a stronger community for Vancouver’s climbers!

The following directors were voted in by VCA’s members at our annual general meeting.

    Why did you join the VCA?: I’m a firm believer that the outdoors are for all - happy to be part of a community that works towards that goal!
    Favourite type of climbing?: SPORT
    Is ketchup acceptable on scrambled eggs?: How can you even suggest that?

    Design

    Why did you join the VCA?: I believe that climbing and being outdoors is better when shared with friends, new or old!
    Favourite type of climbing?: Outdoor sport, indoor bouldering
    Is ketchup acceptable on scrambled eggs?: Yes for scrambled and hard boiled eggs. No for sunny side up, over easy, and poached eggs.

    Technical Skills

    Why did you join the VCA? I joined to help increase access and reduce barriers to skills and knowledge needed for people to become self sufficient, confident, and competent climbers outdoors.
    Favourite type of climbing?: Traditional multi pitch climbing
    Is ketchup acceptable on scrambled eggs?: Only if there’s potatoes in the vicinity.

    Why did you join the VCA? I believe climbing is for everyone and I am passionate about helping novice climbers feel welcome and safe in this space.
    Favourite type of climbing?: Easy to moderate multis!
    Is ketchup acceptable on scrambled eggs?: Yes! ... I’m not proud of it. But NO other egg preparation.

    Why did you join the VCA?: I joined because I believe it's important for Vancouver climbers to have a unified voice in it's relationship with our city and its leadership in regards to access, safety, and community-building.
    Favourite type of climbing?: Anything with an easy approach.
    Is ketchup acceptable on scrambled eggs?: If with potatoes, yes. If not, no!

    Community Events

    Why did you join the VCA?: A sense of community is a big part of why climbing is enjoyable to me. I want to build and strengthen the community and friendships within Vancouver.
    Favourite type of climbing?: Top rope with fun overhangs!
    Is ketchup acceptable on scrambled eggs?: ... I can't enjoy it without.

    Why did you join the VCA? I'm grateful for the community climbing has given me and I want to give back. Climbing is a great sport for meeting new people and I want to facilitate growth of the community for everyone.

    Is ketchup acceptable on scrambled eggs?: What else are you supposed to put on scrambled eggs? Eat them as is?
